Annual Oxford Doll's Tea Party
The Oxford Doll's Tea Party is a traditional tea (with cocoa for the children) which includes a light snack of tea sandwiches and assorted treats. The festive party is set in the beautifully decorated Oxford Hotel. The highlight of the Tea Party is a whimsical ballet performance designed especially for the children. The children have an opportunity to meet the ballerinas at the end of the party; parents please bring your cameras for this wonderful photo opportunity. The Holiday Doll's Tea Party was founded by Frances Melrose of The
Rocky Mountain News, who suggested the event as a replacement for the
Denver Dry goods tradition of her childhood. For over 50 years,
Denver's premier department store hosted a formal tea for children and
their dolls. Since 1991, The Oxford Hotel has carried on the tradition.
This year's Holiday Doll's Tea Party was December 6, 2009. A wonderful time was had by all and we look forward to welcoming you to this outstanding annual event next year!
The Oxford Hotel wishes you a wonderful holiday season and a fantastic 2010!
